Teaching – Ages 8-14

1. Listen
   • Together, you and the kids pick a location/position/objects (fidget spinner/blanket/etc.) to optimize concentration.
   • Remind the children that God wants to share something about himself, so you all try to figure out what that is!
2. Understand
   • After reviewing the audio/video or a Bible passage, ask kids to retell the story, or have fun acting it out with them like a play.
   • Together ask and answer questions you all have, or tell them you’ll get them an answer later if you don’t know.
3. Commit
   • Commit a verse to memory together each month. If there’s no appropriate passage from the content, try the memory verse teaching options below or click here. Use word drops, repetition, and reminders where each of you will see them (mirrors, fridge, phones, toys, etc.) to improve recall.
   • Commit together to a simple personal goal from the content: Have kids brainstorm how that goal will benefit everyone, role play together how that would look in real life, immediately practice on others if possible, and/or use reminders where you’ll see them (mirrors, fridge, phones, toys, etc.).
4. Know
   • Identify together what God shared about himself and remind the children that how they’re getting to know him better is the most important goal of all. Have each of you brainstorm your own idea how you’ll best remember that this week.
   • Leave each of them with an encouraging truth/verse God says about them.
5. Make it last
   • Create and recite a “club” motto to build comradery, share and follow-up with prayer requests, occasionally do service projects during your time, give silly behavior awards to each, and tell them how important and loved they are by God and others at house church!
