Worship Through Reflection
Which option allows you to most meaningfully praise God this week?
The Little Big Things
Together, list several everyday occurrences/entities we all take for granted and rarely thank God for that end up being vital to our well being (e.g. heartbeats, thumbs, light, air, etc.). Have each person create a daily reminder for themselves to praise God for the one they find most significant.
Praise from Pain
Let each member share an unpleasant experience from the last week (or from farther back if more applicable). Then brainstorm what you feel God is already doing to bring some sort of good into that, as well as anything worse he may have spared you from. Worship him for these graces, even through trials (Psalm 119:71-77).
Noteworthy
Pass out cards or some stationary (or even better, make your own!) and write a personalized, genuine, and detailed note of thanks and gratitude to God, both about who he is and what’s he’s done. Read them when you’re finished, then exchange them, so another member can mail it to you, creating an unexpectedly enjoyable moment of worship when you receive it!
Answered Prayer
Have everyone share (if they can/want) one or two of God’s most meaningful answers to prayer from their lives. Choose one or two people to offer a prayer of praise for Jesus’ and the Holy Spirit’s intercession for us and for our Father’s answers (Romans 8:25-35).
