Worship Through Nature

Have each member pick something visible outdoors around you and praise God for whatever attribute of himself it best represents (e.g. his beauty in a sunset). Remind yourselves of these attributes as you continue encountering these things to know know God more organically everywhere you go!

Choose any object in nature and consider or learn together what needs to be present and working for that object to function. Whether it’s the sun or your pancreas, the more you understand its intracacy, the more awesome God’s creativity becomes!

Everyone imagine themselves in a different natural scenario and identify how they would personally relate to God there (e.g. as close friends in a park or as created and Creator viewing a mountain). Thank God for that aspect of your relationship with him.

Let each person describe a personal experience of strongly connecting to God in nature and specifically why it felt so intimate. Praise God for these ways he makes himself accessible to us.

As a team, build something out of natural components that will honor an aspect of God you value and remind you of it. In the Bible God sanctioned the construction of altars for worship out of uncrafted stones (Deuteronomy 27:5-7), so ponder what else nature might offer for you to worship him with!
